Vostok 5 exhibition progress

(Click on the individual images to get a closer look)

Here is a sneak preek (three pages) of my comic book about the first man in space Yuri Gagarin. Here you can see the training process through to the rocket scientists working and preparing to send dogs into space ahead of humans.

This comic book will be for sale at the Vostok 5 exhibition alongside work from 4 other artists at The Outside World Gallery, 44 Redchurch Street, London from the 1st September - 7th September.

There will be a private view on the 1st September from 7pm - so come along for a drink and some space talk!

Vostok 5 work in progress

Heres a little look at my sketchbook - where I’m figuring out what my comic strip will look like. I am making a special edition of Tight Fit for my exhibition in September with the Vostok 5, telling the story of Yuri Gagarin the first man in space.

And a more detailed sketch of Gagarin making his speech to a crowd in Moscow after his 108 minutes in space.

Vostok 5 Project

Please take a look at http://vostok5.tumblr.com/ a new project that Duncan and I are taking part in along with Paul Rains(who featured in Tight Fit 2), Robert Rotifer and Darren Hayman. We are making art and songs on the theme of people and animals in space.

Finally an update!

Apologise for the silence. I’ve been working on exhibitions, and personal work and other bits and bobs - but heres a peek of a little bit of what you can still see at the Girls Who Draw exhibition in Solihull. My work there includes hand crafted and designed pots and pencil drawings(all for sale).

Canoeists sketchbook page

I thought i’d share this sketch to share the process of how i develop an idea of a character, i tend to draw the motion/action/character over and over again until I’m happy to pop him/her into the picture. Anyway.. i like the composition of this page and the movement in the drawing :-)
